Actually, I am not sure what number I am on, but five seemed right!
Today I have been thinking about, are you ready? No, really, that is what I have been thinking about.
Are you ready?
I have come across organizations and artists that say they want a bigger audience and more support, yet the actions that they choose to take do not fall in line with building more audiences and support. As I have said before, relying on the marketing department or in many cases, the one person marketing department, will not give you the results you are hoping to achieve. This person or people may be incredible at what they do, but with all the competitive marketing, social media, etc., you won’t be able to cut through the noise.
You need a team!
So, are you really ready? If so, you will be taking action yourself and building that team of people to get momentum out there. This is how you create buzz, more energy, and more audiences and support.
I also had the pleasure of listening to Drew McManus’ first voyage of his The Music of Star Trek Podcast. This was super fun to listen to, albeit a little long. On this side trek off his main mission, Drew and friends chat about how the music plays a part in all the Star Trek movies and television series. One, I had no idea I was among Trekkie friends, and two, I really enjoyed the “letting their hair down” aspect of the podcast with a great deal of quick quips, laughter, and trivia. Head on over to Adaptistration and have a listen!
Lastly, sharing is caring on social media. I can’t emphasize this enough. It is awesome when I see an organization or artist that has a bunch of likes, comments and shares, with shares being the ultimate gift. This is becoming more rare these days due to everything out there. People are so busy, right? However, it may be as simple as making sure they know you want them to share. To get around the weird Facebook penalty of asking directly in a status update, make sure you put the request in a graphic. Also, ask a group of people to become your social media ambassadors to do the likes, comments and shares.
Again, you need a team!
How’s that for full circle? I hope you all have a great weekend. Feel free to comment and share!
Cheers to happy and loyal audiences,
