I wanted to leave a quick reminder that it is Saturday Small Business Day, and to patronize mom and pop, nonprofits, and arts organizations today. I myself run a small business. If you need a gift for an arts administrator or a nonprofit administrator, please do consider purchasing my books for them.

Here are some more ideas:
- Buy a gift from a friend. I bet you have some artists, musicians, and other creative types in your life.
- Purchase at nonprofit thrift stores. You will get a great price and help a meaningful mission.
- Find out if your favorite nonprofit has an online store. If you rather not go out, you still can shop with heart online. One of my favorite outlets is Greater Good, with a variety of causes to choose from.
- Stroll down to the family shops on your local main street. Most towns have some type of street bustling with good cheer. Oh, and there always seems to be a coffee or ice cream shop nearby too for an extra treat!
- Buy tickets to an arts event or buy art and music from your local artists.
- Discover new music on CD Baby and other independent outlets.
I think you get the idea. Shopping for the holidays can mean more when you are shopping with heart. You will be supporting the very businesses and people that truly matter to you as well!
Cheers to happy and loyal audiences,
