Is your bathroom clean?

Posted by Shoshana

Marvelous Monday to you! I often get a laugh when I ask my clients if they have enough bathrooms. Yesterday, while visiting a local restaurant, I noticed how clean their bathroom was, and how that does make a difference to the over all experience.

Feel free to giggle, but is your bathroom clean? I am sure you can guess that this is more than about a clean bathroom. This means that you are looking at all the little details that make up your audience members’ experience, and each component shines to make them happy and loyal.

The other day I noticed a conversation on my Facebook feed. It was about passive behavior when you feel slighted. Many people don’t want to cause more trouble when they feel slighted, so many of us do not say anything at all. Having a dirty bathroom will get noticed, but people may not say anything about it to you. However, they will complain to other people, and it does affect their overall decision for coming back.

You see, you may not know people are noticing a lack of attention to detail, but they are.

So, for the new year, take a look at all the little details that make up the experience from the beginning of seeing a marketing message to the purchase of the art or tickets. Is each part of the experience shiny? If not, I suggest heading to your store of ideas and purchasing that toilet wand to create the magic of audience development!

Cheers to happy and loyal audiences,
Shoshana
