Wonderful Wednesday to you! I have a few random thoughts I would like to share with you today.
- Collaborations – Your vision must match!
I am working with a group that has a collaboration with city constituents. They worked hard to raise money for the project, and the city agencies put up the other half of the money. The challenge we have found is that the vision of the group is different than the vision of the city constituents. The project now does not have a clear vision going into the planning stages. The collaboration will work if everybody ends up on the same page. Until then, this will be problematic for the collaboration.
I do see this point as a main reason why collaborations fail.
2. Facebook Watch Parties – Have you tried it yet?
I finally decided to test the Facebook Watch Parties. I am not seeing a great deal of these being launched, but they could serve as a wonderful audience development tool. I realize it takes promotion like any other event, so it will require some time before and during. And after, you could be reaching out to the people that watched with you.
This is a great tool to premiere, promote, or simply reach out to bring awareness. I do recommend more arts organizations and artists give this tool a try.
3. He switched coffee shops – your audiences may migrate if…
…If you have staffing changes, but have not worked on getting a customer service brand in place. The feel of the “look and feel” of your organization may not be the same. My friend decided to go to a different coffee shop because the service was not as friendly as before. The new staff did not have the same idea of smiling and having small conversations with the customers. It was a different experience for him. Because there is a lot of coffee shops around, he can find one that does have the friendly service he is looking for.
Currently, there are many options for entertainment and arts participation. If you do change staff, do be sure to fill the new staff in on your branding vision.
